Zahter was founded by the late chef Esra Muslu to share the Istanbul food she grew up with. Today her sister Yasemin Efe and their family carry it forward, with the same warmth and generosity she put into it.

Where is Zahter?

30–32 Foubert's Place, just off Carnaby Street in London W1F 7PS, a three-minute walk from Oxford Circus.

What kind of food is it?

Istanbulite cuisine: the food of Istanbul. Meze to share, pide from the wood oven, fish and meat from the charcoal grill, and pistachio baklava.

Do I need to book?

Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend booking, especially for evenings and weekends. Book online or call 07775 156 768.

Do you have vegetarian and vegan dishes?

Yes. Around half the menu is vegetarian or vegan, including humus, muhammara, şakşuka, wood-fired potatoes and the stuffed artichoke.

Can I hire a private room?

Yes. The Loft, our private room on the second floor, seats up to 25 or holds 30 standing, with sharing menus from £55 per guest.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Saturday 11:30–22:30, Sunday 11:30–21:30.
